Seven teams attended Alfreton Leisure Centre to show off their routines at Monday's KS1 Gymnastics competition
Our young gymnasts were asked to prepare and perform a floor routine, a body management performance and a vault routine with points awarded by our team of judges for knowledge of the routine, technical application and application through effort
These scores from each discipline were then added together to form a team score and overall standings
After a high quality evening of Tennis it was Riddings Junior's A team who showed fantastic consistency to take home the trophy just ahead of Curzon Primary
Each team was made up of four students with boys playing against boys and girls playing against girls in singles matches with their results counting towards an overall team score
The boys leagues were dominated by Curzon Primary with neither Henry or Tait dropping a game. Kian from Riddings managed to finish in 2nd place in league 1 whilst Henry from Leys did the same in league 2
Around 30 students from Years 1 and 2 took part in our first Learn to play Tennis Festival of the week at Belper Leisure Centre on Monday evening!
The children were lead through a series of activities starting from throwing and catching a ball to eventually rallying over a net playing full tennis rules
The progress made by many of the students was remarkable with many able to hold a rally with a coach by the end of the session despite never having played tennis at the outset
Over 40 students descended on Belper Leisure Centre to battle it out to be crowned team Table Tennis champions for the Belper cluster!
Games were played in a singles format with boys playing against boys and girls playing against girls with the players in each category being given a score between 11 and 1 depending on their number of wins
Teams were made up of 4 players with the results from each game with the team with the most points at the end of the evening being declared the champions!
In a chaotic, frenetic, deafening Alfreton cluster Y3/4 Dodgeball competition it was Ironville Primary who held their nerve to claim the title!
Sixteen teams battled it out to become kings of Dodgeball in Alfreton with those teams split into two, 8 team leagues with each school playing eachother once
After that the top 2 from each group progressed to the semi-finals and then a subsequent final which saw Ironville overcome Leys Jr A
Fourteen teams battled it out over 5 courts all attempting to get their hands on our KS2 Boccia title for 2017/18!
In teams of 3 students were tasked with rolling, throwing or launching their boccia balls and get them as close to the 'jack' as possible to claim points for their team!
The games can thick and fast for the pupils who coped brilliantly with playing against different teams on varying courts!
The teams were split into 3 groups, with the winner of each group progressing to the 'Champions group' to battle it out for the top prize!
After a dramatic final game it was Howitt Primary who came out on top in the Heanor cluster Y3/4 Dodgeball competition!
Twelve teams took part in the event with two groups of six teams playing out before a further 6 team playoff round for every school resulting in a frenetic evening of dodgeball!
In group A it was Howitt Primary who dominated winning each of their 5 games to win the group ahead of Codnor A in 2nd and Mundy Jr A in 3rd place meaning Coppice Primary, Langley Mill Jr and Loscoe Primary B would advance to the second playoff round
A phenomenal thirteen schools were in attendance at Belper cluster's Y3/4 Dodgeball competition on Monday evening!
Players were attempting to knock out all of the other team within the 3 minute time period, after that time the team with the most players remaining were declared the winners!
The 13 teams were split into two groups of 6 and 7 with the top 2 in each group progressing to the championship round, the middle 4 teams playing off to decide placings and the bottom 5 placed teams doing the same
After a hectic competition which saw five teams compete brilliantly it was Curzon Primary who came out on top in the first Y5/6 Girls Futsal competiton
The five teams played eachother twice resulting in almost an hour of non-stop futsal for every team, the amount of playing time definitely had a positive impact on the performances with each team improving imeasurably as the games went on!
Curzon made a strong start to the competition overcoming a strong Loscoe side 2-1 in the first game and then didnt lose a game until their penultimate one against Horsley Primary
After an evening of futsal which saw northern and southern area competitions played out it was Mundy Junior and St Johns Belper who came out on top
In the northern area competition at Alfreton Leisure Centre, Mundy overcame a strong Riddings Junior side in a tough opening game and then went through the gears to clinch the title
Riddings Junior kept pace admirably winning their remaining games to edge Heage Primary into 3rd place, Codnor Primary picked up two good wins to take 4th place ahead of 5th placed Leys Junior and 6th placed Ironville Primary
