Apprentice Sports Coach & Community Facilities Officer
Amber Valley SSP CIO are committed to providing a quality service to its member schools which and adopts a strong approach to the safety of working with children.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated apprentice to join our team to help support children reach their full potential and support our new direction of developing community facilities.
The successful candidate will be working with children at KS1 (age 4-7) and KS2 (age 7-11). They will be kind, caring and determined to improve outcomes and aspirations for all children. They will also be able to use a range of strategies to support pupils learning and emotional and behavioural needs, working with individuals, small groups and classes as well as assisting at competitions.
Alongside the role of working with children they will spend time in our newly acquired facility to be a part of the day to day running of a community hub centre.
The role of Apprentice will include:
Supervise children during play activities
To support the localised and centrally coordinated delivery of the national PE and Sport Premium funding
Work with AVSSP to develop local schools with their PE and School Sport Development
Help to improve the quality of teaching and provision of school sport locally
Support the delivery of competitions within the borough
Engage with community programmes being delivered at the community hub centre
Commit to supporting the day to day running of the community hub centre

Job Description: We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated Sports Coaches with experience of working within a school environment. As a deliverer you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of schools leading breakfast, lunch and/or after-school clubs as well as curriculum time PE lessons. The role will include delivering high quality provision to both KS1 and KS2. A good developmental approach will see strong lunch and after school clubs operating which will support schools achieve via competition or increased health benefits.
Applicants will be expected to have a flexible approach to working with an ability to engage with students across KS1 & 2 whilst communicating effectively with staff and other stakeholders.
Successful applicants will benefit from access to high quality PE planning and resources and will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced PE & School Sport Specialists in order to develop their skills further
