Safeguarding

Amber Valley School Sport Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Robert Shaw. Our Deputy Safeguarding Lead is Cheryl Naylor and our Trustee responsible for Safeguarding is Sarah Tew. Please speak to one of the DSLs or one of our Deputies if you have any concerns. We believe that safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility. All children are special and we work hard to provide an accessible and stimulating environment which cares for the diverse needs of all our children. We will do everything we can to protect the children in our care.

In cases where someone has reason to be concerned about a child, if we are in a school environment we will consult with the school safeguarding procedures initially. When in community settings for example holiday clubs we may consult with the family or involve other agencies as appropriate. AVSSP will not first inform parents of concerns in cases where a child’s safety may be further compromised by them doing so.

Please find our schools child protection and safeguarding policy which was last reviewed in September 2023 on our policies page along with other policies relating to safeguarding.

During the school holidays, if you have immediate concerns for a child, please contact:
