Amber Valley School Sport Partnership are working alongside Amber Valley Borough Council & Intelligent Health this Autumn to bring a new, exciting, interactive game to Alfreton, Leabrooks, Riddings & Somercotes
‘Beat the Street’ launched on Wednesday 15th October and allows people of all ages and abilities to track their walking, running, cycling, scooting or rolling by scanning ‘Beat Boxes’ with game cards or the Beat the Street mobile app.
Players score points, climb league tables and compete in teams through to the game end on Wednesday 12th November with prizes available to individuals, teams, groups and schools with AVSSP providing access to our popular Holiday Camps as well as activity days for local schools.
On the 15th October, AVSSP delivered three simultaneous launch events with three further mini-launch events and assemblies saw close to 1000 children learn about the programme, how to play and gain an understanding of the importance of regular physical activity.
