AVSSP have worked alongside Amber Valley Borough Council since the charities inception to improve local lives through physical activity.

Whether working together to support local residents, contributing on strategic policy and practice or driving forward key change for local people our partnership is vital to delivering AVSSP’s charitable aims

A key local partner, Active Derbyshire support us to deliver on a range of programmes and initiatives allowing us to combine local insight with regional and national strategy.

From programmes like Sportivate, Satellite Clubs  & This Girl Can through Opening School Facilities and Active Lives our local County Sports Partnership (CSP) have a huge impact on our ability to have such an impact locally.

As our local County Council, Derbyshire County Council (DCC) support a large number of partner schools to operate day to day.

AVSSP’s works regularly with DCC to benefit the people of Amber Valley and beyond and have linked on projects including Holiday Activity & Food (HAF), Five60 Health & Wellbeing, Bikeability and many more

YST

As a partner of the Youth Sport Trust (YST) we’re a crucial part of the National Network of School Games Organisers and School Sport Partnerships.

Through our regional and national networking we deliver key YST messaging, use insight to drive our operations and ensure inequalities are tackled effectively

As the lead organisation for all things sport in England our work with Sport England is vital.

From working on Sport England projects including School Games & Secondary Teacher Training to impacting upon crucial national policy through our local insight our partnership with Sport England drives us forward each day

As an Association for PE (AfPE) Qualification Centre AVSSP support candidates to access qualifications in PE, School Sport & Physical Activity.

We host a lead tutor and Internal Verifier to ensure the courses run smoothly with dozens of staff across the East Midlands having now accessed either the Level 5 PE Specialism or Level 3 PE certificate qualifications

Street games

Our partnership with Street Games stretches back to 2021 as we worked closely to deliver extremely successful HAF & Holiday programming across Amber Valley.

Street Games’ passion for inspiring young people to be active and removing barriers to activity aligns closely with our own values

Girls FA

Since 2022 AVSSP have been the lead organisation for management of the FA Girls Football Partnership programming capitalising on the success of the Lionesses this programme aims to provide equal access to football for all girls in schools.

We’re incredibly proud to work alongside the FA to have such a positive impact on girls participation

AVSSP have been the lead management organisation for the Department for Transport’s Bikeability programme.

By working alongside the Bikeability Trust and our partner training providers we’re able to deliver thousands of cycle training courses in order to provide a key life skill to the next generation

AVSSP are proud to be entrusted with the role of supporting talented athletes to represent their schools at a range of county pathway events managed by the Derbyshire School Sport Association.

In order to provide opportunities for all children to thrive through sport the DSSA are a vital cog in the Derbyshire machine

As an Employer Partner of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport & Physical Activity (CIMSPA) we are ensuring that the experience and competency of our team of staff is of the highest quality.

Impacting upon the lives of young people is a vital role which we take incredibly seriously and the support of CIMSPA allows us to provide the very best to our schools and communities

DASN

As a founding member of the Derbyshire Active Schools Network (DASN) we work alongside the seven other School Sport Partnerships in Derbyshire to support all county schools to experience high quality PE & School Sport.

Our collaboration extends to County pathway competitions and events, staff CPD and conferences to support schools even further

As our charities host schools Swanwick School & Sports College (SSSC) have been absolutely vital in allowing AVSSP to benefit the local community.

From hosting our offices, supporting us with facilities, offering regular guidance and expertise and supporting our transition to a charitable incorporated organisation SSSC have been the most vital of partners.

Places Leisure

As the contract holder for 3 of 4 main Leisure Centre’s within Amber Valley Places Leisure are an important partner and support us regularly to offer a range of sport and physical activity opportunities.

A main host for our competition and events programme, holiday camp partner and host for a number of sports clubs and health and wellbeing programme Places Leisure enable us to have a positive impact on our communities

Belper-Leisure-Centre

Belper Leisure Centre is the centre of its community and plays a vital role in helping local people be more active.

Our work with BLC includes hosting a number of competitions, events and sports clubs benefitting ages 4-18 as well as a Holiday Camp partner in the Belper locality offering high quality, accessible sports camps in the school holidays

FGS

As a key delivery partner First Grade Sports (FGS) help us to deliver on a range of programmes across the Amber Valley.

As our lead training provider for the Bikeability cycle training programme FGS deliver high quality courses to thousands of young people helping them to develop a vital life skill which can support both physical and mental health and environmental impact.

FGS also support us to deliver a range of memorable intra-school events such as Tough Runner & Tough Rower

The Leadership Skills Foundation (LSF) (formally Sports Leaders UK) not only support our partner schools to deliver vocational qualifications to young people through our Amber Valley Leadership Academy but support and accredit the delivery of our AfPE Qualification centre courses.

LSF have long been a key partner allowing AVSSP the scope to develop key skills in young people making their way in the industry

A key partner since 2019, Infinite Wellbeing CIC’s community objectives align incredibly closely with those of AVSSP. Since forming Infinite have become a vital part of their community and offer support, guidance and opportunities to so many people whether it be through early years, alternative provision education, training or youth provision.
