On a scorching afternoon at Swanwick Sports College Wessington Primary and Ripley Infant shared the spoils as their final finished level with both being awarded a trophy!
8 teams took part in the competition split into two groups of four teams playing small sided games with adapted rules making the games easier to play
The performances of all eight teams were terrific with plenty of goals, great defensive play and team spirit on show!
Wessington managed to overcome St Johns in their semi final while Ripley Infant edged out Croft Infant in extra time 1-0

50 Riders took part in the first round of the 2017 Amber Valley Go Ride Racing Cycling League at Kilburn Junior School
Boys and girls took part in separate races competing for maximum points for their league total – the riders were split into two races with the top 8 from each progressing to the top points race with the remaining riders put into the lower points race
If there were 30 male riders overall the first placed overall rider gained 30 points, 2nd place gained 29 etc

After a fantastic evening of football at Aldercar High School it was Corfield Infant who were victorious in a high standard of competition!
The event was aimed at introducing and developing football skills to year 1 and 2 students in a competitive environment using small sided games and adapted rules to simplify the game!
The results were fantastic to see as each team showed great improvement throughout with some brilliant play both in terms of scoring goals, but more importantly in tactical and technical understanding

Six teams took part in a terrific Key Stage 1 Football competition at Belper School on Monday evening! Around 40 year 1 and 2 children took part, some of whom will have been playing competitive football for the very first time!
Games were played as short, 4 a side, mini soccer matches with no goalkeepers and smaller goals increasing the emphasis on accuracy and technique in the youngsters
Rules were adapated to make the games simple to play and understand while still allowing the key principles of football to shine through

After a fantastic evening of Tennis at Ecclesbourne School it was Curzon Primary who came out on top in the Y3/4 Amber Valley Mini Tennis finals
The competition saw four separate leagues for 1st and 2nd seeds from both boys and girls run simultaneously with points added together to form a team score
Curzon dominated the boys category, winning both leagues to take maximum points while the girls also performed strongly to take the overall title just ahead of William Gilbert with Leys Junior taking a terrific 3rd place

After a close fought game against Belper School it was Aldercar High who came out on top in the Amber Valley Y11 Football final
It was a frenetic start to the game as Belper caught Aldercar totally off guard by attacking up the right wing and scoring inside the opening 60 seconds after a superb cut back and finish
This would have shaken many teams but Aldercar used it as extra motivation and got a footing in the game very quickly beggining to dominate the midfield and ask questions of Belper at the back.

In a game that could have gone either way Belper School's Y10's edged out John Flamsteed in the 2016/17 Amber Valley Football final at Belper Town FC
Belper dominated the first half, limiting John Flamsteed to scraps in the attacking sense from set pieces and break aways but their dominance couldnt be coverted into goals as John Flamsteed stood firm and began to slowly grow into the game

In the final of the Amber Valley Y8 Football league Swanwick Hall battled back superbly to take the trophy after a 2-1 against Heanor Gate
Heanor made a fast start in the game, putting pressure on the Swanwick back 4 with their pace on the flanks and neat interplay in midfield 
This fine start was rewarded with a well taken goal midway through the first half after a through ball into the right back channel was coverted across the goalkeeper

After an end to end Y9 Football final contested between the two top placed schools in the regular season league it was Swanwick Hall who edged the contest on penalties over Aldercar High
The first half was incredibly even matched with both sides working hard to create chances for their front men – however it was Swanwick who struck first with a neat near post finish after Aldercar failed to clear a corner midway through the first half. 

In a ultra competitive High 5 Netball finals evening it was Loscoe Primary who once again came out on top and will go on to represent Amber Valley at the Derbyshire County final
The best 7 schools from 4 cluster qualifying events were in attendance all trying to take the title away from Loscoe
The seven schools were split into two groups with the top 2 from each group going forward to the semi-finals and then eventually – the final
