Five teams took part in Thursday's Futsal competition aimed at giving students with SEN/D an opportunity to represent their school in competition!
Teams were given tips and pointers on how to play the game effectively and were then given specific points to work on after each game, all this made for a great event with all five teams on an even level
Everyone who took part did a fantastic job in listening to the advice given and putting into action on the pitch with every game played in a fantastic spirit!

Herbert Strutt produced a strong performance to win the Y5/6 Girls Futsal competition without losing a game!
Going into the final game of the evening both Strutts and Mundy Junior were neck and neck at the top of the league after going unbeaten through the group
However it was the school from Belper who came out on top in the decider winning the game 2-0 to take the title just ahead of Mundy
Heage Primary took an impressive 3rd place with three wins and only two defeats while Leys junior came in 4th place

Five teams played out a terrific Girls Futsal event on Tuesday with vast improvements shown by every team!
The teams all played eachother once with advice and instruction being given by staff during the games as well as detailed evaluation and a key point to improve on being talked through at the end of each match
The girls involved all did fantastically well to take everything on board and improved in their tactical and technical play throughout each game

The first Wheelchair Basketball festival of 2016/17 proved a success as six teams descended on Aldercar High School, many of them taking part in the sport for the first time!
30 students with SEN/D were able to experience using the wheelchairs in a fun, friendly environment while playing basketball within their school teams
While games were progressing those not currently on court we able to participate in various running game basketball activities delivered by SSP staff from dribbling and shooting drills to small sided games

Mundy Junior produced a superb performance to take home the Y5/6 Basketball title!
Mundy went 100% in the finals winning all their group games to top group B, before taking down defending champions Richardson 6-2 in the final!
Small Schools Champions Loscoe Primary took 3rd place after beating Ridding Junior, while Shirland A edged out Shirland B to claim 5th place across Amber Valley
In the final game St Johns Belper managed to overcome local rivals William Gilbert 4-2 to claim 7th place

Swanwick Primary took home the Y5/6 Futsal trophy after winning each of their games on Thursday evening!
In a competition involving 9 teams teams had to win their opening group stage to remain in the hunt for the trophy, Swanwick, Mundy Junior A and Richardson progressed to that final round where Swanwick were too strong and came out on top!
Richardson progressed to that final round after a sudden death penalty shoot out victory over Riddings Junior, meaning Riddings dropped into the second group alongside Heage and Mundy Junior B

Kilburn Junior left with a 100% record to claim the Y5/6 Futsal title on Tuesday evening!
It was a competition which went right down to the wire with both Kilburn and Horsley Woodhouse heading into their penultimate game unbeaten, they then came against eachother in a game which was sure to decide the title!
Kilburn took a quick 2-0 lead and managed to hold on to take the initiative in the competition and when Horsley Woodhouse lost their final game the winners were decided

Ecclesbourne came out on top in both the Y7 and Y8 Sportshall Athletics progressing to the county final in both categories
Every athlete attending took part in three field events; standing long jump, speed bounce and chest push with the top 3 athletes scores for each time counting toward their team average
The competition then moved onto the track races where athletes competed in an obstacle relay, hurdle relay and flat sprint races with teams scoring points depending on their finishing position
